Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. The quote tool asks for your gender, date of birth, how you would describe your health, whether you use tobacco, the coverage amount you want to see priced, and the term length (10 to 30 years). Those six answers are sufficient to return quotes from carriers. Your name, address, phone number, and detailed health information are not collected unless you choose to apply.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
These are the rates carriers quote for the health class and amount you selected. The final premium the carrier offers depends on their underwriting, which may confirm, improve, or change the class based on your application and their review. Nothing shown on this site is a guarantee of price, and all rates are estimates for information only.
What happens when I click Apply?
If you choose to apply, your answers from the quote tool are used to fill out a secure application on the carriers' platform. You provide your name and other details underwriting needs, then review and sign electronically. You can stop and resume at any time. Susman Insurance Agency, a California-licensed agency, handles the application process.
Will I need a medical exam?
It depends on the carrier, the amount of coverage, and the answers you provided. Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting, deciding without a paramedical exam for eligible applicants based on your application, prescription records, driving history, and other data. The time to decision ranges from same-day to several weeks. Each quote tells you whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required for that product.
Is a longer term better?
A term should cover the years when your family or business would suffer financially if you were gone: a mortgage, young children, a business loan, or income your household depends on. Longer terms cost more per month but lock in the same rate for 20 or 30 years. The quote tool shows you how the price changes with each 5-year increment, so you can compare and choose what fits your needs.
Does this site sell my information?
